The dark, atmospheric and energetic mix of choirs, strings, various Fx
sounds, heavy drums and tribal sections makes this the seed for the
raison d’être sound trademark that begun with the album ‘Prospectus I’
from 1993. Released in 1992 ‘Aprés nous le Dèluge’ became the first
official output from raison d’être when it went available on the Cold
Meat Industry subsidiary label Sound source. For the first time ‘Aprés
nous le Dèluge’ is now available as a complete album on CD, restored and
remixed for superior quality and added with five bonus tracks.

I’m currently collaborating with the german drone masters Troum. The collaboration idea was initiated around five years ago but it was not until last year (after we finally met in north Italy) that things started to move. We hope to complete material for an album before the end of the year, and at this very moment we are half way done. I may upload a few teasers before summer.

I released a new album. It’s not a real raison d’être album, just mixes made by raison d’être fans based on raison d’être sounds. It’s available as free download here:

In 2007 I uploaded an interactive soundmixer filled with a selection of
sounds used in my live performances at that time. To make it a contest I
asked my fans to use the soundmixer to create the best track and send
it to me. I recieved 12 contributions and the result is presented on
this album.
